StumbleUpon

My husband came across the most entertaining website I think I have ever been on.  There are so many website how do you find one that interests you? www.stumbleupon.com. First sing up for the website ( don't worry it's worth it) Second, you choose pictures that represent your interests. Next, you press the "Stumbleupon" button. I enjoy travel and sports and food. I have found tons of great recipe's, places I want to travel to and just plain innovative ideas. You can give things a "thumbs up" or a "thumbs down" to narrow down the sites it takes you to.  My Everyday Advice today is........ check out this website, it is way more interactive than Google.

I found that I would love to visit the Fjords of Norway.

A few Simple Beauty Tips

1) Opposite colors cancels out- if you have redness or ache use green to cancel out that color. Beige concealer will just muddle the color. If you have age spots or darkness around the eye, use yellow or orange to cancel out the dark spots.

2)You can contour your face to be the shape you want it to be. For instance if gravity is taking a toll and your cheekbones are not as "perky" a s you would like apply highlighter on the just above your cheekbone all the way to your temple. Also , use blush directly on the cheekbone, then use a bronzer under neath.

3) Make your eyes pop by changing their shape. At my age the eye loses elasticity, so we need to give our faces more definition. " if you have blue eyes, use orange-y bornzer in the crease of you eye to make your eye look even more blue.

The most flattering eye shadow colors.

Don't forget the opposite rule works here too.

Blue= orange will make your eye pop.
Green= Red red will make your eyes pop
Brown= Most stand outs are blue and purple.

Fixing Furniture scratches

You may have heard this one, but it was mind-blowing to me.
Walnuts can cover your scratches on your furniture. Just rub a shelled walnut over the scratch, the oils will fill in the color of a light to medium brown.

I Promise Myself

Sometimes I need to remind myself of the bigger picture in this world when the world seems to be falling down around me. I really have to work on several of these, but I promise to be a better person if you can make that same promise too.

I promise myself...

To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.

To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthsiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.

To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

Jeremy's Homemade Egg Rolls

3 green onions minced
1/2 tsp ground ginger( even better use fresh)
1- 1/2 lbs ground sausage
1 bag shredded cabbage
1 clove garlic
Wont Ton Wrappers
1 egg
cooking oil

Brown the ground sausage in a sauce pan. Add the ground ginger, garlic and salt and pepper it well. When that is getting almost completely brown add the minced green onions. When they are translucent add the cabbage until it is mostly clear and tender. Salt and pepper this mixture and possibly add more to the cabbage.

Warm the cooking oil, till it is ready to fry the egg rolls. beat the egg and ready the wrappers. Brush the egg all around the edge of the Egg Roll. Add the mixture to the center and pull back. Fold like a envelope. Make sure the edges are tight so it doesn't leak into the oil
Cook in the oil until brown and drain on paper towels. Dip in sweet chili sauce and eat!

I am currently in the midst of sick teenagers. My kids look to me like a pharmacist. there is no reason whey you have to suffer when there are great hings to help your ailments. This one is a no brainer, but we all need a reminder now and again.

Salt Water
1 C of Water 1/8 tsp salt. This soothes a sore throat. ( just try it)

Neti Pot

This is a wonderful cure for nasal congestion. It works in about 5 short minutes.  My Net Pot came with a solution, but you could use 1/8 of salt for this too. Salt doesn't only cure meats, it cures people too!

Please excuse the cheesey picture, but you get the idea.

Trying a New Hair Cut and Color

I hate getting a hair cut hoping for the best and finding the worst. There are few hairstyles that I think look good on me. I have used a website named TAZZ   for a "virtual makeover" .  First, upload your picture. Next,  impose your face on your photo, and try out the rich and famous' hair styles.

http://www.taaz.com/makeover

1) first take a picture of yourself * face on* or facing forward. this helps  it look more life like.
The website will ask you to choose hair, make up etc.. try as little or as much as you like.

This has really helped me to want to try this style.
